The Connells Maple Lee flowers and gifts Kids Club is celebrating the season with spooky succulents.
For our first virtual event, we're offering free take-home kits that will allow children ages 5 to 12 to decorate a Halloween tin with a succulent plant.
Kits must be reserved online, while supplies last, limit three per family. The kits will be available for in-store pickup Oct. 19-24.
Kits include a tin decorated with a jack-o-lantern, mummy or Dracula; two-inch succulent; cellophane for lining the tin; instruction sheet with QR code linking to a video with assembly and plant-care tips; and a Halloween coloring sheet.
Connells Maple Lee flowers and gifts is encouraging moms and dads to send photos of their child's completed project to kidsclub@cmlflowers.com for sharing on social media.
Assembly Instructions
Kit Includes
1 Halloween tin (assorted - Jack-o-Lantern, Mummy or Dracula)
1 piece of cellophane (6"x6")
1 2" succulent (assorted varieties)
1 Halloween coloring sheet
Assembly Instructions
Find a table or flat surface to do this project. We recommend putting something on the surface like a piece of cardboard, plastic tablecloth, or newspaper ... it might be a little messy.
Set your small container flat on the table.
Lay the piece of cellophane on top of the container and push the center of the cellophane down into the container.
Carefully remove your succulent from the pot it came in and put it into the container with the cellophane.
Adjust the cellophane around the edges so it sticks out around the soil.
Give the succulent a little bit of water to drink.
Care Instructions
When caring for your new plants, give it just a bit of water when the soil is dry. Succulents don't like to be too wet, so be careful not to overwater.
